These men came to him and said: “Teacher, we know that you are an honest man, and are not afraid of anyone, for you pay no regard to a person’s position, but teach the way of God honestly; are we right in paying taxes to the Emperor, or not?

Sie aber kommen und sagen zu ihm: Lehrer, wir wissen, daß du wahrhaftig bist und dich um niemand kümmerst; denn du siehst nicht auf die Person der Menschen, sondern lehrst den Weg Gottes in Wahrheit; ist es erlaubt, dem Kaiser Steuer zu geben oder nicht? Sollen wir sie geben, oder sollen wir sie nicht geben?

Y viniendo ellos, le dicen: Maestro, sabemos que eres hombre de verdad, y que no te cuidas de nadie; porque no miras á la apariencia de hombres, antes con verdad enseñas el camino de Dios: ¿Es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no? ¿Daremos, ó no daremos?

Eles se aproximaram e lhe disseram: Mestre, sabemos que és homem de verdade, e não te interessa agradar a ninguém, porque não te importas com a aparência humana, mas com verdade ensinas o caminho de Deus. É lícito pagar tributo a César, ou não? Devemos pagar, ou não devemos?

Quando chegaram, disseram-Lhe: "Mestre, sabemos que és verdadeiro e não Te importas com a opinião de ninguém, porque não julgas pela aparência dos homens. Verdadeiramente ensinas o caminho de Deus. É certo pagarmos impostos a César ou não? Devemos pagar ou não?".
