He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

He saith, Yea. And when he came into the house, Jesus spake first to him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? the kings of the earth, from whom do they receive toll or tribute? from their sons, or from strangers?

“Yes,” answered Peter. But, on going into the house, before he could speak, Jesus said: “What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly kings take taxes or tribute? From their sons, or from others?”

Er sagt: Ja. Und als er in das Haus eintrat, kam Jesus ihm zuvor und sprach: Was dünkt dich Simon? Von wem erheben die Könige der Erde Zoll oder Steuer, von ihren Söhnen oder von den Fremden?

El dice: Sí. Y entrando él en casa, Jesús le habló antes, diciendo: ¿Qué te parece, Simón? Los reyes de la tierra, ¿de quién cobran los tributos ó el censo? ¿de sus hijos ó de los extraños?

Ele respondeu: Sim. Quando ele entrou em casa, Jesus o antecipou, dizendo: Que te parece, Simão? De quem os reis da terra cobram tributos ou taxas? Dos seus filhos, ou dos outros?

Ele respondeu: "Sim, ele paga". Mas quando Pedro entrou na casa, Jesus antecipou-se, dizendo: "O que achas, Simão? De quem os reis da terra recebem taxa ou tributo? Dos seus filhos ou dos estrangeiros?"
