On a sign from the Governor, Paul made this reply: “Knowing, as I do, for how many years you have acted as judge to this nation, it is with confidence that I undertake my own defense.

Paulus aber antwortete, nachdem ihm der Landpfleger zu reden gewinkt hatte: Da ich weiß, daß du seit vielen Jahren Richter über diese Nation bist, so verantworte ich mich über das mich Betreffende getrost,

Entonces Pablo, haciéndole el gobernador señal que hablase, respondió: Porque sé que muchos años ha eres gobernador de esta nación, con buen ánimo satisfaré por mí.

Mas Paulo, fazendo gesto ao governador para que falasse, respondeu: Sabendo eu que por muitos anos tu tens sido juiz desta nação, com maior ânimo eu me defendo.

Todavia, quando o governador acenou para Paulo falar, ele respondeu: "Entendo que por muitos anos tu tens sido o juiz desta nação, e estou muito feliz em me explicar para ti.
