And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the Lord thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.

Und sie antworteten Josua und sprachen: Weil deinen Knechten für gewiß berichtet wurde, daß Jehova, dein Gott, Mose, seinem Knechte, geboten hat, euch das ganze Land zu geben und alle Bewohner des Landes vor euch zu vertilgen, so fürchteten wir sehr für unser Leben euretwegen und taten diese Sache.

Y ellos respondieron á Josué, y dijeron: Como fué dado á entender á tus siervos, que Jehová tu Dios había mandado á Moisés su siervo que os había de dar toda la tierra, y que había de destruir todos los moradores de la tierra delante de vosotros, por esto temimos en gran manera de vosotros por nuestras vidas, é hicimos esto.

E eles responderam a Josué, e disseram: Quando foi dado a entender a teus servos, que o SENHOR teu Deus havia mandado a Moisés seu servo que vos havia de dar toda a terra, e que havia de destruir todos os moradores da terra diante de vós, por isto temos muito medo de vós por nossas vidas, e fizemos isto.

Eles responderam, dizendo: "Porque foi dito aos teus servos que Yahweh, vosso Deus, mandou Seu servo Moisés para vos dar toda esta terra, e destruir todos os moradores desta terra diante de vós. Então, temíamos muito pelas nossas vidas, por causa de vós. Então fizemos isso.
