2Und Jehova sprach zu Gideon: Des Volkes, das bei dir ist, ist zu viel, als daß ich Midian in ihre Hand geben sollte; damit Israel sich nicht wider mich rühme und spreche: Meine Hand hat mich gerettet!
3Und nun rufe doch vor den Ohren des Volkes aus und sprich: Wer furchtsam und verzagt ist, kehre um und wende sich zurück vom Gebirge Gilead! Da kehrten von dem Volke zweiundzwanzigtausend um, und zehntausend blieben übrig.
