15Und Josua sprach zu ihnen: Wenn du ein zahlreiches Volk bist, so ziehe in den Wald hinauf und haue dir daselbst aus in dem Lande der Perisiter und der Rephaim, wenn dir das Gebirge Ephraim zu enge ist.
16Und die Kinder Joseph sprachen: Das Gebirge reicht für uns nicht aus, und bei allen Kanaanitern, die im Tallande wohnen, sind eiserne Wagen: bei denen, die in Beth-Schean und seinen Tochterstädten, und bei denen, die im Tale Jisreel wohnen.
17Da sprach Josua zum Hause Joseph, zu Ephraim und zu Manasse, und sagte: Du bist ein zahlreiches Volk und hast eine große Kraft; nicht ein Los sollst du haben,
18sondern das Gebirge soll dir zuteil werden. Da es ein Wald ist, so haue ihn aus, und seine Ausläufer sollen dir gehören; denn du wirst die Kanaaniter austreiben, wenn sie auch eiserne Wagen haben, und wenn sie auch stark sind.
